Sunny, a pop singer touring small East German towns with a mediocre band, feels increasingly trapped by routine and loneliness. When she begins an affair with Ralph, a saxophonist and philosopher obsessed with death, she hopes for change but finds no escape. After being expelled from the band, Sunny must face herself and her desire for a life beyond conformity in a society that leaves little room for dreams.
