For centuries women have been in charge on the isolated Estonian island of Kihnu. Whilst the men were away at sea, the women would look after the animals, harvest the crops and look after the children. Today, there are less opportunities on the island so many young people want to leave. Filmmaker Julia Finkernagel immersed herself in the local community over twelve months.
