The Seto are one of the smallest ethnic minorities in Europe with around 10,000 Setos living in south-east Estonia close to the Russian border. Although Christian, they continue to venerate their pagan god Peko and preserve their culture and traditions, one of which is the annual election of the Regent, Peko’s representative on Earth.
