Eight soloists take the audience at La Folle Journée de Nantes on a trip back to the 17th century, a journey that starts in France and ends up in Italy. The first part of the concert is dedicated to French Baroque music. Salomé Gasselin and Corinna Metz play viola da gamba, Jonathan Zehnder performs the theorbo and Emmanuel Arakelian plays organ on compositions by Louis Couperin, Jacques Boyvin and Louis de Caix d'Hervelois. The second part of the program goes over the Alps on a visit to Italy with Hanna Salzenstein on baroque cello, Thibaut Roussel on theorbo, Alberik Boullenois on bowed bass and Justin Taylor on harpsichord.
