Muhammad Hassan Zmarai, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan since 1996, is the caretaker of a precious collection, thousands of cassettes of Afghan music. He has been collecting them for 25 years, a musical heritage that is in grave danger: Across the border in Afghanistan, the Taliban has banned music and persecuted musicians.
