Is Romania finally taking action against femicide?

Since the murder in May of a young woman made famous by reality television at the hands of her ex-partner, the issue of domestic violence has dominated headlines in Romania. The media are paying closer attention to the phenomenon, and to drive social change, a bill to include femicide in the Criminal Code is now being prepared. It is expected to be presented in October.
