With only 4.3% of orchestras having women conductors in 2019, La Maestra was launched to change that. This international competition at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Paris Mozart Orchestra gives the next generation of women conductors a chance to shine.
This year 16 candidates from all over the world compete in front of a jury led by acclaimed Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv.
The four finalists must interpret works by Stravinsky and Ravel.
