In Europe, Maltese people are the most sedentry. Add to that the lack of physical activity and a diet caused by 150 years of British rule rather than Mediterranean influences, the diagnosis is clear. Malta is suffering from obesity and public health problems. The government is trying to fix it by measures that encourage people to move more, with particular focus on young people.
