"The Living Bridges" of Meghalaya are the product of human ingenuity in the face of nature. Hundreds of years ago, when monsoons swelled the streams in the mountain jungle and turned them into raging torrents, the surrounding villages built living bridges out of tree roots. It's a tradition still alive today.
