In the last two years of the war, it is estimated that between 70,000 and 100,000 soldiers of the Ukrainian army may have died. Eighty per cent of the population now have a close relative who has been wounded or killed, and twelve million Ukrainians are suffering from war trauma as the psychological wounds become ever more apparent.
